Questionnaire feedback and possible photo for my rock magazine

In order to get a better idea of who reads music magazines, what they expect to see and what appeal's to them to make my music magazine stand out, I created a questionnaire for people to answer over the internet. It includes some basic questions which will hopefully give me a better idea of where to start on my magazine. The following are some graphs which display some of the answers gathered from participant's who answered the questionnaire and what conclusion I am able to make from them.

After much consideration I have decided on rock for my music magazine genre, I will have to look over  my format research so that I portray this genre well.  During half term I took some photos which I could possibly use for my magazine with the rock genre in mind. I think that the above image would be successful and is one of my favourites.

I think that this picture really relates to the genre of rock music due to the multiple attributes which include the models dark and bold make-up. This is something that looks professional as it is the typical rock colours, the make-up also matches the colour of the clothing making the picture flow and creating a successful outcome. In addition to this the picture has been purposely posed in an effective manner to highlight the bold and edgy atmopshere of rock, the fact that the model has one leg on the seat almost suggests she feels superior to anyone else, resulting in the picture standing out from a typical pose. To emphasise this the audience are drawn to the models eyes which are looking into the distance to reinforce the idea that she feels superior and above everyone else, even though the photo doesn't have a direct mode of address it is still effective because the p icture has a bold and piercing effect, again relating to the rock genre.

On the other hand the only negatives about this photo is the fact that the background could be seen as a distraction, this is something that could be edited out on photoshop which would ensure that the audience are instantly attracted to the picture. I think that this picture has been clearly thought out making it effective therefore resulting in the picture being successful.

the image above really links to the genre of music you are aiming at.the bold makeup and the posed used creates a really powerful image, and makes the artist appear very mysterious. the artist is not focused on the camera, which adds an edgey appeal to the image, linking to the associations of rock music in society. overall, i think that the image really suits the style and genre of a rock music magazine, and will be a really effective front cover image as it would intise the reader.
